AI  & JOBS

The onset of the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) and the soulless advance of AI is of huge concern. Replacing human beings in the workplace is not only an imminent threat to millions of jobs throughout this country, it is a serious threat to our entire way of life.  The newly installed, Canadian Prime Minister and former BIS; Committee on the Global Financial System; chairman, Mark Carney stated: The fundamental challenge is; alongside its great benefits, every technological revolution, mercilessly destroys jobs and livelihoods; and therefore identities; well before the new ones emerge.

And this is how they intend to proceed with this agenda; without mercy.

The WEF prediction that AI, in all its various forms, will account for 47% of all jobs by 2030, aligns with Mark Carney’s prediction and also with a European Union (EU) report which stated that between 45% and 60% of all workers in Europe will be replaced by some form of automation before 2030.

A study conducted by Oxford University examined the future of AI replacing human beings in the the United States (US) workplace and also concluded that approximately 47% of jobs were at risk.

In 2018 the WEF announced that the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution would be collaborating with governments and businesses to, co-design guidelines to empower governments to responsibly deploy and design AI technology.  Britain was the first country to partner with the WEF on this project, and by January 2019, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy issued a press release announcing that the new partnership, which actually built on an existing collaboration with the Centre on AI, would include £10 million for 15 projects, through the Pioneer Fund to help unlock the potential of emerging technologies, from robo-lawyers to flying taxis.

Various think tanks believe that AI holds the potential to vastly alter governmental operations, from healthcare delivery to the processing of tax information, from Whitehall administrators to traffic management, from NHS administrators to GP receptionists.   Even nurses and doctors will be effected by innovations like TeleHealth, which is again being promoted by the WEF.  Here, previously presented as, containing Covid-19, we find wearable and implanted technology tracking peoples vital signs with AI Chat Bots making initial medical decisions based on symptoms.  The current Labour Government has already began this process.

The Oxford study listed 702 different occupations and rated how susceptible they were to automation.

The growth of self service sections at supermarkets, bank closures, post office closures, these are plain for all to see, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Aldi have all opened checkout-free stores following in the footsteps of Amazon.  People are used to robotics in manufacturing, they are aware that driving jobs are at risk from automated transportation and retail sales jobs from online platforms, however it is the insidious replacement of human beings from all sorts of jobs in all sorts of industries which will be harder to notice, until it is done.

Among the many AI casualties, the study predicts that between 85% and 95% of all call center workers, estate agents, cashiers, clerks, legal secretaries and librarians will be automated.  Loan applications will be managed by automated systems and AI Chat Bots, algorithms can now analyse financial data and do tax returns without the need for an accountant and the study reflects this with the jobs of 94% of accountant’s and 93% of tax auditors expected to go.  92% of cabinet makers, 89% of stonemasons, 84% of tailors and dressmakers, 84% of plasterers, 75% of painters, and 79% of motorcycle mechanics, are set to be sacrificed in this act of societal vandalism, which will see whole trades, skills, hobbies and entire industries decimated.

The financial impact of these job losses to the tax base will be catastrophic.  The impact they will have on small businesses, hospitality and our communities will be irreparable, and the effect they will have on critical infrastructure, health, education, community services, roads and transport, many of which are already at breaking point; is immeasurable.  What will happen when 47% of the tax income is no longer available?

Our current politicians are either complicit; set to profit from the carnage inflicted upon their constituents, their communities, their small businesses and services, or; they are aware of what is happening, but do not have the integrity or courage to stand up for the people they were elected to represent, or they simply aren’t intelligent enough to see what is going on.

Either way, any politician advocating for; Agenda 2030; the merciless advancement of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and AI, Net Zero, or the introduction of Digital ID: must be removed from power.
